Made it to Houston...
Mar. 10th, 2012 04:46 pmPick up this morning was a bit late, so got to the airport barely 1.5 hours before the flight. We finally cleared security and customs just as the flight started boarding -- apparently Saturday morning of March break is a crowded time at the airport.
We had a 5 hour stop-over in Washington DC, which had free wifi -- of course it was so slow that it felt like dial-up. Even the google home page took a noticeably long time to load. Gah.
I'm now in the United lounge in Houston. We got in about 40 minutes early, and our flight is about 10-15 minutes delayed departing, so we've got a bit of time here. Not as much as Washington, but at least the lounge has decent wireless.

Date: 2012-03-11 03:17 am (UTC)And crowded enough they couldn't get us the 9pm flight tonight, nor the 8am, or 2pm ones tomorrow. Back on the 6pm flight tomorrow.
Same with the train
Date: 2012-03-11 12:21 am (UTC)This massive migration of people is why my childhood birthday parties were so sparse so I should have remembered.

Date: 2012-03-11 03:39 am (UTC)Just glancing at the scripts that load for www.google.ca, there are 6 and the first one alone is well over 300kB. If you don't have broadband speed, you're going to notice that.
