Looking at my historical record (that is, my collection of old badges), I've now attended Cangames 10 times: 83-89 and 2007-2009.
I finished off today with Diplomacy, where I had the unfortunate draw of Italy -- it didn't go so well. (Essentially 5th of 7.) Then played History of the World, where sucky dice rolls kept me down.

Date: 2009-05-18 01:55 pm (UTC)And, yes, to the player elimination, or near elimination, issue. A modern game wouldn't be designed that way. Yet Diplomacy does hold up very well for such an old game design, it was truly a brilliant game design.
