I successfully dodge the rain today. It sprinkled during the day, but was fine while I rode to dinner. It thundered then poured, while I was eating dinner, then stopped while I rode to dancing. It rained while I was dancing, but stopped when I was headed home. It has now started raining since I'm home. I greatly appreciate the cooperation of the rain gods today, and hope for further cooperation from them tomorrow in the form of their complete absence while I go climbing.

Awesome day of climbing
Jun. 27th, 2009 07:38 pmThe climbing today was awesome. The weather looked a bit iffy as we headed out, but as we approached Calabogie it started to clear. We spent the whole day climbing with sun and blue skies plus a nice breeze to keep us cool and the bugs away. It was warm enough to sweat just a little -- but not enough that you were dripping. And there was nice shade from trees for the belaying, but the climbs topped out into the sun.
We did a couple more climbs that we didn't do last week, which was really nice as well. They are somewhat longer climbs, and both are very nice -- though the finish of the harder of the two was quite physically intense.
I had one person with me from last week, and two more that I've seen in the gym and invited out a couple times, and they finally came along. They had never climbed at Calabogie before, and they were really happy with the climbing out there -- both good climbs, and lots of choice for climbs, with it being easy to move from one set to another. :)
Now, I should do something about feeding myself before I keel over.

Jun. 27th, 2009 11:58 pmWow... I'm getting a lot of it.

Tuesday evening: 3 hours climbing.
Wednesday evening: 3 hours dance.
Thursday evening: 4 hours bouldering and climbing.
Friday evening: 2.5 hours dance.
Saturday: 8 hours outdoor rock climbing.
Sunday: day of rest.
A few years ago, in a week, I might do nothing that constituted exercise.
