Damn cold, eh?

Yup, damn cold.

It hit -26 this morning, wind-chill -39. 7am, 8am, and 9am reading were all -26, 7am and 9am windchill reports were -39. (For you Americans, that's -15 with a windchill of -38.)

And, it won't be getting much warmer for a few days... forecast lows for today and the next couple days are -29, -27, -32; it then warms up to a balmy -21, before dropping back down to -29 on Sunday.

Yesterday, the high was just about freezing. I wonder how many people had trouble getting car doors open this morning?

And, there were some mighty icy bridges out there today.

First physiotherapy appt

I had my first physiotherapy appointment today. Apparently, for having been in this cast since October 31st, my left leg and ankle is in pretty good shape. I've been given the set of exercises for "2-3 weeks in" rather than "just got cast off". Yay me.

We'll see how things go, but I've got good hopes.

To Michigan and back (Jan 23-26)

I'm headed to Michigan for Confusion, the weekend of Jan 23-25. Travel plans are:

Thursday Jan 22nd, after work, drive to Toronto.
Overnight in Toronto chez metalana.
Friday proceed on to Detroit.
Friday & Saturday at con.
Sunday night, probably overnight chez elizilla and redrunn.
Monday drive back to Ottawa.

So:
Anyone in Ottawa want to spend a long weekend in Toronto and get a lift there & back with me?
Anyone in Toronto want to do breakfast on Friday 23rd?
Anyone along the way to Detroit want to do lunch on Friday the 23rd?
Anyone in Toronto like to do lunch on Monday the 26th?
Anyone along the way planning to go to Confusion, and would like a lift?
