Damn cold, eh?

Yup, damn cold.

It hit -26 this morning, wind-chill -39. 7am, 8am, and 9am reading were all -26, 7am and 9am windchill reports were -39. (For you Americans, that's -15 with a windchill of -38.)

And, it won't be getting much warmer for a few days... forecast lows for today and the next couple days are -29, -27, -32; it then warms up to a balmy -21, before dropping back down to -29 on Sunday.

Yesterday, the high was just about freezing. I wonder how many people had trouble getting car doors open this morning?

And, there were some mighty icy bridges out there today.

Definitely an indoor kind of day for us.

Although my furnace is trying really hard, but the house is still 3 degrees lower than the thermostat is set for. Sigh. Slippers, wool socks, and 2 sweatshirts just isn't cutting it today. *brrrrrrrr*

Oh look, we've struggled up 2 degrees, now on the main floor we're only 1 degree away from what it's set for.

I wish, though, that there was some heat upstairs.
However, g's father's place had the pellet stove go out and they woke to 7 degrees - that makes me feel like *such* a whiner over 17!

Mine is a few years old, I also replaced it. But, I went up a couple grades of power from the previous one, so this one seems to be doing better. And, also, burning less gas -- higher efficiency than the old one.

I didn't find it any worse than some of the days last week. Probably because there was very little wind on my walk to work.
