pleasant get-together last night

ragnhildr and iclysdale showed up around 6pm, and we had food. Then beable appeared and we setup a game of El Grande. Just as we started, a few more people showed up (ilanikhan, then _niall, then a bit later, ansfrid and ironphoenix). ilanikhan and _niall played Caesar and Cleopatra, then the four played Race for the Galaxy. After we completed El Grande, we played Tsuro and a few games of Bananagrams. Wehn Race completed, there seemed no momentum to start another game, so we hung around in the living room and chatted, drank some port, and chatted. Definitely a pleasant get-together, and everyone departed shortly after midnight.

Unfortunately it looks awfully rainy, today, for my climbing expedition. :( Though tomorrow looks pretty positive for my trip out with iclysdale. :)

Nice day climbing despite the weather

Despite the nasty looking weather here in Ottawa, we had most of the day up at Luskville without any rain, and had dry rock for most of our climbing. It was quite nice. We climbed at Home Cliff, where I've climbed a number of times before -- so now I'm playing with variations, how can I do this route differently, make it harder, etc.

I did manage to scrape up and bruise my shin something good, though. I took two different falls at different places and scraped/bashed the same area. Doh. (Well, the 2nd one wasn't a complete fall -- foot slip, but I managed to catch myself rather than landing on the rope. In the first one I actually fell, though.)

And, gabriel_le should be home in 2 hours! w00t!
