When we last heard from our protaganist, he had been to a convention...

I left the convention with, or actually, right behind, [livejournal.com profile] jeffreyab and followed him all the way home. Well, we stopped for dinner and a couple errands in Port Huron on the way to Sarnia. Got up the next morning, and made my way to Waterloo, surprising [livejournal.com profile] corbet by calling her from the Timmys at Phillip & Albert (since her email had said that was close to her work) rather than somewhere in southern Kitchener near the 401 as she was expecting. She hadn't know that I'd spent my own time at UW in the past. So, picked her up for lunch around 11:30am, and went over to Eastside Marios, to be close to campus. A tired looking, working horribly long shifts (with more to come) [livejournal.com profile] icedrake joined us around 12:15pm. Corbet and I at lightly of lunch, and icedrake had desert and, of course, more cafeine. I finally got corbet back to work for about 1:30pm, and dearly hope she had no bossly issues about the long lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch, and was glad I made the side trip.

It was a very windy day, and I had a tail wind all the way along the 401, blowing up to strong enough that I had to lean into the wind to walk back to my car at one point. Mostly, though, no precipation, for which I was glad. This could easily have been a dump enough water on the world to slow everything to a crawl type storm.

Still wish I'd had my motorcycle to ride.

Hmmm. I could have easily run into you at said Timmy's as that mall is right next to my office :-) Glad you had a good trip and made it safely back home.

With the wind on Monday the ride would have ranked with elliza's crossing of Neveda at a 45 degree angle.

Glad you made it home okay, hon. It was lovely to see you again -- I'm feeling quite spoiled by all the good company lately. May it never end!

Now there's a good excuse.

If some random stranger can call me up and say, "hi, I want to ask a question about my pregnant daughter, and I don't want to ask a doctor, and you're a midwife and I found your name on the internet, and then I called directory assistance for your phone number..."

I would think my _friends_ could use the same strategy. At least the directory assistance part, since presumably you already know my name. There's only one of me in these parts. :)

Don't worry, you are forgiven. Just don't do it again. :)

For me, this is a politeness thing, or maybe a shyness thing, or maybe a phone thing, or maybe just a lack of self-confidence thing. Yes, I know I can probably do a internet search and find you. But, if I've given someone a chance to give me contact information (e.g. the post where I gave the pazoople@yahoo.ca email address) and they've not done so, I tend to treat this as a preference for privacy, or a desire to not be contacted by me.

I will try to find your phone number and contact you for my next visit to the area.
