Climbing weekend

Finally we had good enough weather, and enough not travel, that I got out climbing both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Ok, Sunday was too warm, but there was enough breeze to keep it tolerable. Also, the black flies appear to be greatly diminished, replaced, of course, by mosquitoes.

I find mosquitoes easier to deal with than black flies.

I definitely find mosquitoes better than black flies, too. Smaller numbers, feels like you can kill them, and they seem to respond better to DEET.

what is "too warm" for climbing? Mosquitos are definitely better than black flies. DEET works better with the tiny bloodsuckers.

"Too warm" definitely depends on your tolerances and adaptions -- the temperature was about 32C (about 90F) with some humidity; I'm sure someone from Florida would have found it cool and comfortable, but for us poor northeners it was on the warm side, and probably our hottest day so far this year.

And, yes, DEET definitely works better and the little vampires.
