And the upcoming...
Dec. 19th, 2005 10:54 pmTomorow night: Christmas shopping. Yay. Finally.
Wednesday night, ansfrid's dinner, maybe Narnia.
Thursday morning, fly to Calgary. Accumulate family members (4) at Calgary airport, drive to Invermere.
Spend a week in Invermere, with family, doing family stuff and maybe some skiing, and maybe visit some hot springs.
Thursday 29th, fly home.
Friday, 30th, throw a party.
Saturday 31st... not sure, party in Ottawa? Party chez sultrysong and mellybean71.
January: trips to Arisia and Confusion.
February: Detroit for training, possibly Venezuela for training. If Venezuela happens, I hope I'll have time for some touristing, but it's not looking good. (With possibly 2 weeks in Detroit, and 1 week in Venezuela and my consulting project not done yet either, it unfortunately doesn't look good.)

Date: 2005-12-19 08:10 pm (UTC)I don't know whether we'll make it your party, but I think we'll try if we can get hooked up with a sitter. It's a shame to be a car-owner and not go anywhere ... hey, I wonder if I'm working that night? I haven't called in sick in about a year.

Date: 2005-12-20 11:04 am (UTC)Maybe we could go in the late summer or fall?
I only get three weeks of vacation per year and Croatia will take all of them. However I'm carrying over 9.5 days from this year, so I CAN still do a few other things.

Date: 2005-12-20 11:50 am (UTC)Since we're talking about heading southwards, fall would make more sense to me than late summer, because of temperature concerns. Even late August could be cooking hot, but late September should be much more comfortable. The only disadvantage of being that late in the season is that the days are quite a bit shorter than in the spring -- the long daylight hours of spring are, really, nice. Though, again, heading south does tend to reduce this effect.
Hm... or if we plan it for the week that ends with Conclave, I could ride all the way back to Michigan with you, go to Conclave, then head home. (That would probably mean first week of October-ish.)
I've got lots of holidays, so getting the vacation time won't be a problem.
