Then I drive across the Sierra Nevada to Minden, NV, which is my actual destination. It looks to be a couple hours drive, but should be a pleasant drive. Landing in Reno would have been closer -- only about an hour's drive -- but the flights to Reno were awful, or expensive, or both.

Still, I was awake way-too-early this morning.

We were quite favourably impressed with the Basque restaurant that we tried, in Reno. My understanding is that that there's a fairly large Basque community, in that area, that stems from high plains sheep ranchers immigrating. If you can find a restaurant, nearby, then it might be worth a look.

Interestingly, when I asked for restaurant recommendations, the first one suggested was a nearby Basque restaurant. Given your comment and the recommendation, I think I'll head there tonight.
