Off to the UK
Dec. 11th, 2005 04:08 pmThis evening I'm off to the UK, going to Leicester (I think), it is Northwest of Heathrow, and east and a bit north of Birmingham. The flight over is fine -- Ottawa to Heathrow, direct. The flight back is a lot messier -- Heathrow-Amsterdam-Montreal-Ottawa. Ah well, I have been to Schipol in a while, I guess. I could have flown to a closer aiprort (I've got about a 3-hour drive in the UK), but it would have made the flight both ways as bad as the flight home, or even worse (Ottawa-New Jersey, 7 hour layover, Amsterdam, airport).
I hope I do manage to get some sleep on the flight over -- I've got some upgrade certificates, and hopefully there'll be room for an upgrade to the comfy seats.
Gonna need to see if I can find my plug converter for the U.K. If not, will probably have to buy one of them when I get over there -- I'm sure I can find one in Heathrow somewhere.
