Arrived in Taipei
Oct. 10th, 2015 06:35 amAnd I have no arrived in Taipei. It was dark when we landed, and got consistently lighter as my taxi drove across the city to my hotel. The time here is 6:27am (Saturday morning), 12 hours off EDT (where it is still Friday evening) giving me the maximum time change for purposes of jetlag. Yeeha.
I flew EVA air from Toronto to Taipei -- about a 15 hour flight. At least I was in business class, they called it "Royal Laurel", so I had good service and lots of room, including a lie-almost-flat seat/bed. I expected the slippers the supplied, but I did not expect the pajamas, but did decide to use them. I don't normally sleep in PJs, but decided they would be more comfortable than my clothes, and I really shouldn't sleep how I usually do. :)
I am, also, once again in a part of the world where the toilets have control panels.

Date: 2015-10-10 01:45 am (UTC)Once in Japan, during a "cultural exchange visit", a young soldier returns from the restroom, and urgently whispers "Sarge! The toilet just EXPLODED!"
"YOU FUCKED WITH THE BUTTONS, DIDN'T YOU?"
