Acceptance into International Climber's Meet Yosemite Valley

Or, to put it another way, I'm going climbing in Yosemite this fall! w00t!

The ICM is an event hosted by the American Alpine Club, inviting international visitors for a week of climbing in Yosemite, I applied, and was accepted, this year. Yes, I'll have to camp -- but I think I'll be able to handle that for a week of climbing in Yosemite.

I am very excited about this.

Neat. Yosemite is an excellent park, and as (I assume) the club is arranging your stay it'll be much easier - the park is good, but is overwhelmed by the local population, thus getting a spot to stay there can be difficult.

Will half-dome be one of your climbs? I suspect they'll tell you the info, but when I visited (1986) they were very specific that anyone camping had to store food up on poles due to bear problems.

Camping spots are, I think, pre-arranged, as is food. I don't think I'll need to deal with the bear issues, but I expect they'll be properly handled.

Half-dome is not likely to be one of my climbs. I don't think there is a reasonable climbing route up half-dome that I would be able to get done in a day.
