Postcards from a convention

Conclave seems a bit small and quiet this year. Actually, it has been getting smaller and quieter the last few years, it just seems to have dropped a bit too much this year. But, it is moving back to the Detroit area (Romulus, near the airport) for next year, so hopefully that will boost the size back up.

Highlight so far was reminiscing with jeffreyab, elizilla, and thatguychuck late at night (about 2am-4am) in the Confusion suite. That was a good time.

And, who knows, we may even witness the return of Bubble Man for Confusion. :)

what hotel was it at ? Is tit that one yuppy piece of shit one ? I can never keep them straight, but the last sci fi con I went to the people in the restrunt and at the desk looked at me like I was the anti christ for going downstairs to look for someone at like ..some time in the am..maybe 5 am..within apropriate "pj Hours" in my ducky pjs and slippers. And then made us wear robes or something in the loby when we were in costume... it was not fun at all.. I realize it was too big a place to rent the entire thing out...but ...well con shouldn't be held at a place we cant take over more thain 50% of..

Sorry , little rant there, the con shrinking just made me think of that con... wich I could have been there all the same :)

It was at the Holiday Inn South, Lansing. Same one it's been at for about 10 years now, this one has a large central atrium with a grand piano in the middle of it, which has tended to be a central hang-out place.

And, yeah, some hotels have had issues with revealing costumes.

I'll be at Convocation in February for sure.... beyond that, it's up to Michael Arcanna, as I work for him and various cons.. so that kind of determins what ones I go to.
