At the airport again, this time off to Europe: Lyon, France for a week, then Parma, Italy.

I must say that I far prefer the Air Canada lounges to the US airlines lounges -- actual food (I'm eating chili, but there's also pasta out) and decent booze for free. I'm drinking a Taylor Fladgate LBV, but they also have a Glen Livet 12yo Scotch available, as well as Bailey's, Kahlua, and a number of other decent-quality liquors. And, it is all self-serve.

United has beer & wine, and a few low-end other drinks, and only snack foods. US Airways only had wine, and also only snack foods. Last time I was at a Lufthansa lounge, though, they were decent as well.

Sadly, Air Canada upped the mileage needed for gold status last year, so while I achieved enough for lounge access by the old standards, I didn't by the new standards, so this will be my last visit to an Air Canada lounge for a while. But, if travel continues at the current rate for the rest of the year, I might make status again next year.
