Off to California....

And I'm off to California, so yet another YOW post. My flight out of Ottawa is leaving an hour late, but luckily I have a 3 hour (now 2 hour) lay-over in Philadelphia, so it should have no actual effect on my arrival time. And, Ottawa has free wifi, so it isn't all bad. Unfortunately, though, all the power outlets here seem to be not supplying power at the moment, so that's not quite so useful. I wonder how long my batteries will last, it is a new laptop, so I don't know how it does.

Yeah, ice climbing is kind of scary, generally more risky than rock, especially if you're leading. On top-rope, not quite so bad -- example picture would have had all that ice falling away underneath him... though the belayer might still be in trouble. In fact, belaying for ice climbing tends to be risky, too much stuff to fall at you. You always try to belay from well off to the side.
