Day 9 - Joshua Tree

We drove to Joshua Tree this morning, getting there shortly before noon. Looked at Intersection Rock, but all of the easy stuff was busy, so re-routed to Trashcan Rock. I planned on starting on an easy route -- 5.3, 5.4 since JTree has a reputation for stiff grades, and it is almost all trad. Unfortunately, I got confused and send myself up a 5.8. I got it with one hang on gear, though -- but spent much of the way cursing how stiff 5.4s were in JTree. Sure it was a stiff 5.4 -- it was a 5.8. :)

Yes, I can imagine that being a bit wtf-inducing on the way up!
