Maybe I'm not a philistine, after all

I went to a poetry slam last night, that is a competitive live performance of poetry. I went, mostly, because succulentpoet was competing for the first time, and I wanted to be there to support her and cheer for her. And, I enjoyed it. Some of the poetry was deeply personal, some of it was political, some of it was humourous, and some of it was very clever. Some people read or said their poems, others truly performed the works.

I think I'll plan to attend more of these. And, hey, my cover is supporting the performing arts in Ottawa, and that's good, too, right?

The odds look good. Weather looks decent, just had a couple things fixed up on the bike that I wanted done before I headed out -- wasn't sure if the shop would have time on a Saturday to do them or not, but the shop did -- and assuming we're not out too late, tonight, it looks good. We'll confirm, for sure, tomorrow morning before heading out.
