Yummy dinner
Mar. 26th, 2012 08:55 pmI had dinner with horsetraveller this evening, which was nice. We were headed for a Caribean place, but it was closed, so we walked around the corner and into Marisol Restaurante. After a quick look at the menu, we decided it was out of the budget range we wanted, but when we said this to the manager, he offered us 50% off if we were willing to recommend it to friends, that is, if the food was good. The food was, definitely, very good.
I had the "Braised Lamb Shank on a White Bean and sausage Cassoulet". The lamb was tender, but still flavourful, and the Cassoulet was a delicious accompaniment -- rich and flavourful.
horsetraveller had the "Roasted Rack of Lamb with a Potato and Cauliflower Gratin", which she also says was very good. I tried a bit of the Potato Gratin, and it was quite nice.
We both also split a small tart for dessert, which was good, but not quite to the quality of the mains.
They are at 30 Ontario Street South, Kitchener - marisolrestaurante.ca.
