Friday dinner with [livejournal.com profile] leolac and her ex-rm. Good food, good to see her ex-rm again, since it had been a while.

Saturday I got to sleep in, then some grocery shopping. Last minute dinner plans occurred with [livejournal.com profile] con_girl and [livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr, then we were off (about 1/2 hour late) to [livejournal.com profile] tangerine_jello and family's place for some Port, chocolate and gaming. We played a nice 5-player game of Puerto Rico, with occasional observation by baby.

Sunday, I hosted gaming at my place.

As expected, [livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr arrived right on time at 1:00pm. Given that we weren't sure how long we'd wait for other gamers, we started a game of Kingdoms. About 15 minutes later, [livejournal.com profile] iclysdale called to see if gaming was happening -- it seems he'd recently got back on LJ and after my gaming/no-gaming/gaming-again LJ posts wanted to verify, quite understandably. About 1:30pm, 4 more gamers including [livejournal.com profile] i_and_t, [livejournal.com profile] leolac and (mostly) observer, her friend D, and I think [livejournal.com profile] iclysdale arrived, so we broke into two groups of three, pulling out Tigris and Euphrates (me, i and t), and Torres (leolac, iclysdale, ragnhildr). While we were setting up the games and explaining the rules, [livejournal.com profile] con_girl arrived and joined Torres, and shortly thereafter [livejournal.com profile] beable arrived and joined Tigris and Euphrates. Torres finished first, and was won by [livejournal.com profile] con_girl to, if my observations of the other game's interactions were correct, her surprise. While our other game was completing, a few games of Flux were played, I'm not sure of all the winners, though it possibly included [livejournal.com profile] iclysdale, and [livejournal.com profile] leolac and maybe others. I won the game of Tigris and Euphrates, and it was decided it was too close to departure time for some to start a longer game, so much of the group, excepting me, [livejournal.com profile] con_girl, and maybe someone else played a game of Before I Kill You, Mr Bond, which I think was won by i. (Note, I am not the same person as i, who is half of i_and_t.)

At this point, [livejournal.com profile] iclysdale, [livejournal.com profile] beable, and [livejournal.com profile] i_and_t departed, amid much sorrow. The remainder of us decided that we hadn't played a crayon-rail game in a while, and a couple people ([livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr and [livejournal.com profile] con_girl ) expressed a strong interest in doing so, and it was "only" 5:30, so we had "lots of time" to finish one, so we pulled out EuroRails, and decided to try one of the "fast play" variants, or at least, parts of it, such as more starting build time & money, faster trains, and a 5-choose-3 demand cards at start variant. [livejournal.com profile] leolac's friend D dropped his observer status and joined this game, though he had to leave early to catch a bus. Our "short" game finally wrapped up around 1am, with a win (her first at a crayon-rail game, congratulations) by [livejournal.com profile] con_girl.

Then, the 1/2 hour or more wait for the taxi (yeah, right, it will be here in 5-15 minutes) started.

Been a good weekend so far, and I'm enjoying one more day of being not-at-work. Yay for long weekends.
