oops, chocolate
Mar. 7th, 2012 01:12 pmI went for lunch today with ironphoenix and soul_diaspora. We were planning to go to Phnom Penh (Hazeldean Road at Terry Fox), but when we got there discovered it had closed on February 29th. Oops.
We re-directed to Pestos (Hazeldean & Castlefrank) and as we walked across the parking lot, I noticed a chocolatier (Jojo Coco). And, the restaurant also had a small deli associated with it, and some interesting chocolate there, too.
Jojo Coco opened on Sunday, and have some interesting stuff -- including carrying some SOMA products.
I spent about 3 times what lunch cost on chocolate between the two places, all on new brands that I have not tried before.
3 Vosges bars: lemon zest, pink peppercorns in white chocolate; hibiscus, blood orange caramel, and Campari in (70%) dark chocolate; sweet indian curry, and coconut in (45%) dark chocolate.
2 Coppeneur bars: chili & highland whiskey in (70%) dark chocolate; coffee in (66%) dark chocolate from Dominican Republic.

Date: 2012-03-07 06:35 pm (UTC)The curry bar is very nice... remniscent of the famous Dolfin Masala bar, but smoother in texture and more coconut to the taste.
(Also, something's borken in your post.)
