I just got home from Christmas dinner with my parents. It was quiet this year, since neither of my sisters was able to make it home, so there were just three of us. I still ate too much turkey, though.

We did manage a Skype call with my sister in B.C., so I was able to see my niecelings and wish them (and Cathy and Randy) a Merry Christmas.

For Christmas I got a new climbing rope (60m, 10mm duo-dess, dry), and a boardgame. For my birthday (3 days from now, but I won't see my parents between now and then), I got 3 more boardgames. (Games: Alien Frontiers [BGG rank 87th], 1830: Railways & Robber Barons [88th], Automobile [98th], and Bohnanza [191st].) I may be bringing a couple of them to gaming tomorrow. :) I also got a book on saving and investing (*sigh*, parents), and a picture book of my niecelings. There was also a ceramic Tim Hortons coffee mug my dad had gotten elsewhere that he passed on to me.

I really wonder whether Automobile is really all that... the description didn't grab me, but Wallace usually does good stuff. 1830 may be a bit more than we can handle today... I want to try it sometime though. Bohnanza, I own and like... it doesn't seem to be quite your favorite style, but it's a good one to have around because of its versatility.

Yay saving and investing! No more buying silly games, and booze, and traveling to cons and climbing destinations, you can iz serius adolt nao! Have you got your coffin picked out?
