Though it was slow getting started with, unfortunately, several cancellations.

notsoholygrail was first to arrive, and we played a few rounds of Zendo.
Then ironphoenix showed up, and we played Volcano and then Ice Towers (ironphoenix).
Then Natalie showed up and ironphoenix left, and we played a game of Charon, Inc.
While we were playing, kali_kali, tchang, and arndis showed up, and they played TransEuropa.
Most of us went to dinner (Koreana), joined by foms and the return of ironphoenix.
After dinner mentisiterinvit, rottenfruit (with little O), and iclysdale also showed up.
I played Age of Steam with ironphoenix, mentisiterinvit and foms.
The other 6 played Power Grid.
Both games broke up early -- Power Grid due to a slow start, Age of Steam because mentisiterinvit hit her bedtime and I had a strong enough lead that ironphoenix thought it wasn't worth pursuing, and foms was convinced.

So, by then end we had a crowd of 10 or so people. After a slow start, it was a good crowd.

P.S. ironphoenix raised a rules issue with Age of Steam. He questioned the auction payment rules -- he was correct, my edition has a misprint. Quote from BGG:
2009 Eagle printing: 1 error:
The sentence "The last two players participating in the bidding both pay the full amounts they have bid." was missing. It should be between the two sentences: "The first player to drop out of the bidding takes the last player space on the Player Order Track and pays nothing, even if they had bid some amount" then the missing sentence, then the sentence "Any other players pay half the amount they had bid, rounding up."
Aside from that, no errors, no changes.

Thanks again!

I don't think I can claim that the rules difference was what gave you the game!

I don't think so. I think the most I ever bid in the auctions was 1, and I don't think I paid that.

Hope so, too. I'm thinking next weekend for the next one, likely Saturday again.

Well, that's bad planning on your part! :)

I'm sure holiday gaming will happen. Among other things, ironphoenix has mentioned boxing day gaming. I'll probably host some, too.

Twas fun, even if you kicked my ass royally.....!
Hopefully next time I can participate in more of the day, (instead of having sudden random changes in the schedule with the kids.)

Kicking ass, and taking names. That's me at gaming. :)

Yeah, hopefully.

With little O (or, maybe, rapidly growing O.)

I will correct.

BTW, when does little O get his own LJ, so I can refer to him properly by LJ name? I wonder... is little_O available as an LJ name?
