Gaming cancelled
Aug. 31st, 2005 09:48 pmI'm cancelling my gaming plans for this weekend. I'm planning to go up to the cottage with my parents this weekend, and spend it working on clearing trees and any other post-storm cleanup that needs doing. Assuming, that is, the road is cleared enough that we can actually get to the cottage. (Guesses are that it will be.)
Sorry.
Maybe the following weekend, September 11th (or thereabouts).
[edit] Or maybe Saturday, or maybe the following weekend, around the 17th or 18th. Cause, the 11th might be booked already.[/edit]

I had hoped from your earlier post that your place was safe and still hope that it is nothing like the earlier storm.
But the water should be fabulous.

Date: 2005-09-01 07:45 am (UTC)And, yes, the cottage is supposed to be ok -- but it doesn't mean there still aren't a bunch of trees down in various places that, to some extent, need to be cleared up.
And, the backhouse may need to be re-built, or, at least, righted.
From the reports I've gotten, this storm actually took down a lot more trees than the previous one, at least in general, though I don't have a detailed report on my parents property. Assuming we can go up this weekend, I'll be posting a more detailed update when I get home.

Date: 2005-09-01 08:55 am (UTC)This has been a dramatic summer for Lac Sam. I certainly hope that the cottage is ok.
