Adventures in homecoming.

I got home to find that the back-up keys weren't in their proper place. I'd given my first backup keys to tormenta in Toronto, so she could stay at my place over the weekend. Then, she forgot them in Toronto, so I told her where the house-local backup keys were, so she could get in. Then, I loaned my primary keys to meletor_et_al in Detroit so she and her boy could get in. Unfortunately, the house-local backup keys didn't get returned to their standard location. Oops. So, I arrived home, without keys, and with my house locked. And, noone home.

My first suspects for having keys... Flail... well, commodorified is in B.C., and I thought the others but Ian would be at the cottage, so I tried him -- but no response. (Turns out they weren't but I didn't know until I got online.) After pinging a few people, I finally raised clinkerfiasco, and walked half-way across downtown to borrow her keys. I'm glad she was awake. And, at least it was only raining gently -- neither pouring nor snowy.

Conclusion: either don't drop to only one level of system that is out of my control, or establish yet another backup.

Oh yeah, I'm home. :)

P.S. There was tasty looking pirate maple rum in my kitchen. I look forward to trying it! Thanks!

It might be maple pirate rum. Things are a bit unclear.

Did you forget that I had keys? Would you like them back so you can have yet another backup? I recommend using a magnetic key holder and hiding it somewhere around the house and keep those only for yourself.

That is a thought. But, it would require a fair bit of re-working. Hm... maybe a real-estate style lock-box hanging on the front door handle -- I think you were doing something like that?
