Arrived in Florida

After a bumpy flight, there was weather in Fort Lauderdale, so our approach was delayed. Then, part way through our first approach, they had to abort. Always fun. :) After more circling, we finally got down, about 45 minutes late.

Then, rental car was annoying -- first car didn't have remote lock/unlock. If you have a different car every week, a button that makes YOUR car turn its lights on in a parking lot is very useful. Very very useful. And, then the GPS unit wouldn't stay on its stand. *sigh*

Ah well, I did finally make it out of the airport -- but more than an hour later than expected.

And, being late, I grabbed food in the hotel restaurant. For after-dinner, they had a very limited selection of Scotch (Glen Livet and Glen Fiddich, both 12 year, both boring), but did have something like 4 different Ports, so I'm drinking a quite acceptable Dow's ruby.

It's been a while since I've had either a go-around or a rejected takeoff. I need to fly more.

I've had them a rejected take-off in the last couple years.

As far as go-around, this was just one failed approach. One flight, many years back, we had something like 4 or 5 failed approaches, then after the last one they redirected to a different airport, cause they didn't have enough fuel left to fail another approach then get to the alternate airport. That was an exciting trip. :)

I fly home Friday, so we won't overlap. And, even if we did, we'd only be a bit closer than Ottawa-Toronto, since Sunrise - Orlando is about 340km.

Hm. Adequate is, well, adequate in port or scotch. I think which I prefer will be mood and situation dependent.
