Corvette - not my kind of car
Oct. 6th, 2011 12:51 amPerhaps I shouldn't have been surprised. Ok, it had muscle. You push down on the accelerator hard, and even at highway speed, it roared and pulled hard. But, it also got all skittery when doing so. And it didn't corner particularly well -- or maybe the traction control wasn't working well, since it seemed to apply it at times where I didn't think I was anywhere near the edge of traction. (Or, if I actually was, then it conered REALLY badly.) And, of course, a lack of back seat, and minimal trunk space makes it severely impractical -- but I knew that already. :)
I've always thought I was more of a sports-car kind of guy than a muscle-car kind of guy, and this just confirmed that opinion. The 'Vette is definitely a muscly muscle car. And so not my type of car.
And, in other news, I played a game of Twilight Struggle with frenchzie after teaching her the game this evening. Yay boardgame!
I know, I just haven't been doing much gaming the last few months. With work travel eating up a lot of my time, and most of the rest of the weekend time being chewed up by rock climbing, it hasn't left much time. I haven't forgotten my love of gaming, I will come back. Just wait until the end of climbing season. :) Probably not more than a month left, now. (And, hey, maybe I've gotten rusty from not having played in a while, right? I'll be easy meat next couple of gaming get-togethers. :)

Date: 2011-10-06 11:47 am (UTC)I just think it's a Barbie doll kind of car, and the fact my mom has one only confirms that image.

You're a sports car kind of guy.

Date: 2011-10-07 03:53 am (UTC)The Corvette is a muscle car, emphasis on brute acceleration, but not really a sports car.
I tend to prefer the sports car -- emphasis on handling, rather than brute performance.
