Well, I survived the trip to Detroit, Confusion, and the trip to Atlanta.
On the way to Detroit, Delta continued to disappoint, reaching a score of 0 for 2, when they flew me from Houston to DFW (Dallas Fort-Worth airport), then decided to cancel their flight from DFW to Detroit (DTW) because of "mechanical" problems. They booked me on a later American airlines flight, getting me into Detroit for 4:30pm (instead of 1:30pm), and it was snowing and cold enough the roads weren't melting clear. So, the drive from airport to hotel was 2.5 hours, instead of just under an hour. Sure, it might have been 1.5 hours at 1:30pm (due to the weather), but I was not best pleased at getting dumped into rush hour when I'd planned to avoid it.
I had a lot of fun at Confusion -- mostly spending time with old friends, but making a few new ones, too. Stayed up late several nights, including Sunday night, where I didn't get to sleep in, as I needed to get up around 7:30am. (Actually, that probably could have been 8:30am, but I wanted to have breakfast with a few friends that I hadn't caught much time with earlier, at least partially because they were involved in running the convention.)
Delta actually managed to get me into Atlanta only 15 minutes late (up to 1 for 3, ooo), and the drive accross the city went fine.
I've not been doing great on the airport/hotel situation -- both Houston and Atlanta had me landing at airports south of the city, but driving to a location north of the city while in Detroit it was from a west-south-west suburb to a northern suburb.
And, argh, dial-up again. Actually, the Detroit hotel had high-speed internet in the room, but I was too busy having fun to even unpack my laptop. And, this hotel is in the middle of installing wireless high-speed access. This leads me to thinking I'm going to have to get QNX to spring for an 802.11B modem for my laptop.
