[livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr actually arrived (slightly) early for gaming yesterday, so we got started pretty much on time with a game of Princes of Florence with her, me and [livejournal.com profile] leolac. I've had this game for a while, but not had a chance to play. i of [livejournal.com profile] i_and_t arrived about half way through the game, and observed until the end. (Apparently t of [livejournal.com profile] i_and_t was naked, in the basement at home, playing WoW and wouldn't come out.) I won the first game of Princes of Florence, and [livejournal.com profile] succulentpoet, [livejournal.com profile] scubajim, and [livejournal.com profile] pezchica arrived just as we were setting up for a second, four player, game. After some complex negotiations, [livejournal.com profile] leolac bowed out (being quite tired), and [livejournal.com profile] scubajim stepped in. I won this second game as well, and we then negotiated a game switch -- with (after some discussion) the same 4 core gamers doing the gaming, and the three socialites continuing to socialize. We decided on El Grande for our third game, and [livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr triumphantly stomped on me right at the end to allow [livejournal.com profile] scubajim a narrow victory. For this manoeuvre, [livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr collected many hugs and congratulations. El Grande does allow for a certain amount of "gang up on the leader" or "gang up on the threat" type play since it is a competitive control type game, whereas in Princes of Florence there is far less possibility to do this.

At this point, [livejournal.com profile] pezchica stated that she'd been waiting for a chocolate raspberry martini for several hours, and that I was remiss in my hostly duties of providing such. But, it being about 7pm, and despite the wonderful Mexican lasagna that [livejournal.com profile] pezchica had brought, we decided we were all too hungry to have drinks right then, so we went out for Vietnamese food at the Mee Xim. We managed to order enough food that even [livejournal.com profile] scubajim ran out of capacity to eat.

After dinner i and [livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr pumpkinized, and the rest of us went back to my place, where I made the martinis for all but [livejournal.com profile] leolac, which is just as well, as she ended up cutting [livejournal.com profile] scubajim's hair. (If she'd had a drink or two, the result might have been amusing, rather than good.) More flirtation, cuddling, talking, laughing, and good times happened, before everyone headed for home.

Thanks everyone, it was a wonderful day.

Actually,

Was feeling sick all day which is why I didn't come over. Annoyingly, I am still feeling icky. Which is not a great thing on your vacation. Oh well.
(But, I admit, I did play wow all day..sit in front of the TV feeling sorry for myself or the computer, might as well be the computer)

As for the naked, yeah, ok, but, I did actually put pants on at around 6pm.

I certainly hope that you eventually put on the bikini as promised! ;-)

interestingly, while he did not agree to put on my pink polkadot bikini and let himself be photographed, he did say that he'd put it on and let YOU have a private viewing. Guess what we're doing the next time you're over! (we just have to remember to make him!)

oh yeah. guess what he's doing now. more naked WOW. maybe I can convince him to put on pants before 6 pm. or at least do something more interesting pantsless before 6...it is my vacation too...

This time I get to be in on the denial of any and all flirting that I may or may not have observed and/or participated in.

*thrilled*!

It was a great day of gaming. Thank you for hosting again. El Grande and Princes of Florence were both fun games, and it is interesting to get to be king-maker!

yes it was super-fun! however, as opposed to ragnhildr, I would much rather be king (queen?) than king-maker...but I'm not competitive or anything...and if I can't be the evil queen then I must TEAR DOWN THE HOPES AND DREAMS FOR POWER OF ALL THOSE AROUND ME!!! <<>>

I'm not competitive either, as long as I win, WIN, WIN!

yes. showing up to the er, or answering my pages drunk is not considered good form. I am rather a lightweight, and it would probably take only 1...
