And home again

Flight was delayed out of Toronto for mechanicals.

And one of the things I really dislike about YOW is just how SLOW, I mean GLACIAL the luggage delivery is. It isn't THAT big an airport. And, the terminal was built fairly recently (2004, IIRC) -- so it should have reasonably modern systems. And yet, I think I wait longer, and consistently longer, for my luggage here in Ottawa than anywhere else I've flown.

Then had Pho (amid much snickering about "fur traders") with commodorified and fairestcat.

I missed late pho? Boo!

Boo indeed.

You know, I've felt the same thing. Ottawa is just slower for luggage. It's dumb.

Yep.

YOW also remains one of the few modernised airports that still has the luggage area not cut-off from the main areas. I thought the security rules didn't allow for that anymore. Anyone can just walk in from outside and go straight to luggage carousels...

Nah. Most airports I've been through seem to have the luggage delivery areas easily accessible to just about anyone, including people wandering in the doors. Nope, your luggage really isn't very secure at the delivery point. And almost nowhere do they check to make sure you're actually taking your OWN luggage away. I've been checked for that at YYZ when entering US customs, and when arriving in Las Vegas. I don't think it has been checked anywhere else.
