Had quite a nice gaming & potluck get together yesterday, with a surprisingly high number of attendees -- especially considering the (fewish) RSVPs I had. It was, though, pleasantly surprising.

For gaming, we had: me who managed to triumph at Flux, [livejournal.com profile] ragnhildr who killed Dr. Lucky, [livejournal.com profile] concordantnexus, [livejournal.com profile] leolac, and Bronwyn (sp?) and Jason, who had to leave a bit early. Replacing Bronwyn & Jason, was the surprise (well, they'd mentioned in their LJ that they might make it, so not total surprise) arrival of [livejournal.com profile] i_and_t who clearly triumphed in their first game of Traders of Genoa.

[livejournal.com profile] concordantnexus left before the potluck, and we had the arrival of [livejournal.com profile] succulentpoet and three friends: Brian (including another "it's a small world moment" between him and [livejournal.com profile] leolac since their parents are neighbours), Steve, and Faye, [livejournal.com profile] con_girl, [livejournal.com profile] foms and to some surprise, [livejournal.com profile] foms's parents (though a phone call was made to check that this would be ok), Rayne, and completely without RSVPs, Luc, Heather, her baby Kale-N (no, that's not how to spell it, it's gaelic, but that's how she described how to pronounce it), and [livejournal.com profile] ansfrid and [livejournal.com profile] buttongirl both in full SCA garb.

I don't think I missed anyone. (Total 19 adults, one baby.)

[edit] - cameo by [livejournal.com profile] beable and also Devon was there. So, total uppped to 21 adults. [/edit]

Food was eaten, conversation was enjoyed, a speaking stick was handed around, toys were admired, and flirting happened. And, of course, lots of hugs were exchanged.

Bronwyn and Jason? Is Jason of asian persuasion, Bronwyn…um, not (not sure how else to describe), youngish…?

Bronwyn (sp) is [livejournal.com profile] metalana's younger sister, lives upstairs from Rayne, and wasn't still there when you arrived. Youngish is a touch call, as I'd say she was older than several of the people there -- probably around 30. Jason was probably asian of some persuasion, yes.

well hell....I had no idea you knew them, or that they were poly, or whatever the reason was they were there.

Bronwyn ([livejournal.com profile] arndis) is my younger sister, age 26. Her boyfriend [livejournal.com profile] tchang, Jason, is at least half Chinese. At last check they were monogamous but poly-friendly or poly-curious or whatever. My sister's and my crowds have been overlapping for years, and [livejournal.com profile] dagibbs probably wants to beat his neighbours at boardgames, so I introduced them.

From my conversation with Jason, I'd say poly-curious would be how they sounded to me.

And, Jason did strike me as part-asian, rather than full.

I'd met Bronwyn a couple times in passing. Both Rayne and [livejournal.com profile] metalana had mentioned they might like gaming, and that I should invite them over for gaming. So, given that much of my usual gaming crowd looked to not be able to make it this time, I did so. (I had not, to my knowledge, met Jason before Sunday.)

Do you attempt to denying the activity of flirtation? If so, I don't believe you for a minute. ;)

I'm glad you had a good time, and bitte.

You know it.
I've always loved to swim.

mmm...that might prove to be interesting...=D

may I join? ;)

Absolutely.
But apparently if you want to swim in that Egyptian river, you have to deny any knowledge of any flirting happening last night. *grins*

what about our current flirting? ;) lol

(and I didn't NOT mean to make a pun on 'current'...*groan*)

And this did NOT stem a thought to invite you out for breakfast scones one day...the ginger-current ones at The Scone Witch are rather lovely. =)

Hey! You promised to take ME out for those breakfast scones! Maybe you'll have to take both of us out for breakfast scones?

this is you working, eh?

Either I can flirt with two at the same time, or you'd both have to wait your turns.

In either case, you are the one [livejournal.com profile] dagibbs who is going away this weekend. ;)

From: [identity profile] dagibbs.livejournal.com
I'm sure you're capable of flirting with both of us at once. ;)

And, doh, I am going away this weekend, aren't I? Hm...that's why I'm working so hard at catching up on LJ.

Acknowledging current flirting is totally acceptable. *grins* Also, bad puns and grammar snarking are the keys to my heart.

Scones would be lovely. This weekend is crowded, since my sister is in town. I'd love to see you, though... when next week is good for you?

Well I did stick my nose in briefly (also in garb).

And felt self-conscious both about sticking around in garb and sticking around when I hadn't technically brought anything to the potluck (something that a trip down the road into Chinatown could easily have remedied).

Hm... I did forget you, and one other person, actually. I wasn't bothered by your garb -- and as noted [livejournal.com profile] ansfrid and [livejournal.com profile] buttongirl were in garb, too.

And, yup, you could have picked up coconut buns or something else yummy in Chinatown very easily.
