I finally got the bike out. I know, I know, really late. It has been a decent spring, but I've been travelling a lot lately, and that has interfered. As has having 2 cars in the driveway to maneuver past, rather than just one. I still need to get it somewhere for a spring tuneup, maybe while I'm off to Wiscon.

For the long weekend, some weekend plans have come together, but others are still hanging in the air.

Friday dinner with a high school friend back from Toronto for the weekend. Then an undate.
Saturday evening a date.
Sunday climbing out at Calabogie, then dinner with rottenfruit (and maybe iclysdale).

I'm still looking for people to climb with on Saturday & Monday.

Rainbowspryte will, also, be staying at my place over the weekend, to attend Cangames. Hm... I wonder what a day pass to Cangames is, if I don't find climbing for Saturday or Monday. Maybe not worth it, since I won't make the evening of Saturday, and Monday is a short day at the con anyway.

Sat is $17 I think.

There is some indication that going to visit the dealer's area is free, so I might go and do that on Sat.

I've heard similar rumours about free dealer's area. Dunno if they are true, don't recall either. ironphoenix might know for sure.

I know you can wander for free, and I don't recall dealers checking badges... I can check today.

Have fun at Wiscon. I wish I could be there but, in retrospect, am really glad I didn't book a flight and hotel room for this year. The odds that I would be able to make it would be low, even leaving aside work issues.

Yes, you trying to make it to Wiscon this year would probably not be a good plan. I hope it does go well, and I have fun. New cons are always a little bit... difficult. The balance between getting to know new people and having to get to know new people is difficult. Luckily, I should know a few people up there already. :)

Did I ever mention where I brought my bike for service. He was quite fair in price. In the end, for a oil and filter change, chain cleaning, and general inspection, he actually only ended up charging me for half an hour of labour (plus materials).

Google MD Motorcycles. He's out around Bank and Hunt Club.

I think you may have mentioned where you went, but you never mentioned whether or not you were satisfied with the results.

There is no Monday at Cangames, hasn't been for many years now. I know that one can walk in and wander for free, but I can't remember if there's badge-checking at the marketplace - I know there's con staff there for something.

There was one year recently (a special anniversary, 25th or 30th) where they ran the Monday, but as a rule, you're correct: Monday is usually take-down.
