I had trouble deciding on the title of this entry, "Damn you Ms. Hamilton, Damn You", or "Seduced by Seduced by Moonlight" were my other prime choices.

Over the weekend, I read a couple Charlain Harris novels (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mycrazyhair), including Shakespeare's Trollop, and Club Dead. The first a mystery, the second a fantasy/mystery (vampires), strangely reminiscent of the Anita Blake stories. (She's having trouble with her love life with a vampire, and starts to get interested in a tall handsome werewolf.)

But, last night around 1am, I went to bed and figured I'd read the first chapter or two of Seduced by Moonlight before going to sleep. At about 7:10am this morning, I put down the finished book, cursed, and tried to get at least some sleep. Less than 2 hours, of course, as I had to be up at 9, to be at work for a 10am meeting. I'm thinking I'll be early to bed tonight, and may even need afternoon coffee to keep me awake.

Personally I think that Harris's work is a beautiful sarcastic comment on the Blake novels.

Hm... maybe.

I've started thinking of Anita as a dual-classed bounty-hunter/necromancer who's hit about level 20 in both.
