Seen variants of this before, doesn't make me any less happy about being chronically depressed. :p
I've also seen interpretations that it occurs when one's internal worldview/fantasies don't realistically mesh with the real world.

That doesn't describe me in the least. A depressive episode for me means poor grades and more difficulty solving academic and social problems, not any sort of improved performance.
