in this heat I'm cautious about cooking anything let alone things that require heat for prettification purposes.

My hair is of a length and style where I pretty much have to blowdry it if I'm to look at all presentable. I did try letting it airdry as an experiment the other day, and it took forever, and I still had to use a curling iron to finish it off when I wanted to look better than bed head later in the day.

So it doesn't seem the slightest bit crazy to me.

Craziness. (then again, I only own a blowdryer so I can occasionally heat chocolate very, very slowly. I haven't used one on my head since I was spiking my hair in the late '80s with Aquacement. Good times, good times.)

I don't even think I own a blow dryer. Last one I used was used to inflate an air mattress.

Actually, there's two girls in my house. Yes, I may have not mentioned it. I have two room-mates now. One moved in while I was in Switzerland, the other moved in around February or March. Both are baby-dykes.
