I have found myself inspired by pecunium and (more recently) soul_diaspora to try not just for "I was here" photos, but also to photograph flowers. (And, by how well a couple of the shots I got in Mexico turned out.)

I don't think I have anything quite as striking as a couple of the shots from Mexico, nor as nice as the sunset shots, but I do like these as well:

Neat flowers!

Artistically, I like #4 best... the contrast in textures and the subject are evocative.

The first one is a smooth leaved Rhodedendron. The last one is the seed head of a Pulsatilla (or Pasqueflower). I think the second one is Oenothera macrocarpa (Ozark Sun drop) but I am not absolutely certain. The others I am very not certain about! :-D
