Oraklos - a quick pattern-matching game. Looks like it might be fun.
Cannes - a network building & production game about producing films.
VOC! - fetching spices from the new world for money... with blind ship routing. Dunno.
Indonesia - economic development... with auctions for turn order and merging companies. Looks challenging.
Roads and Boats - a game of logistics, where you only own what is on your transport. Production facilities and goods are common. Simultaneous play, unless conflicts happen. Right now, it is making my brain hurt. (And, the box is HUGE.)

We have roads and boats, and I really like it. we have yet to finish a game, with our limited playing time at once, but we've gotten close. the rules are not bad and are intuitive once you get going.

we have indonesia as well, but we have only tried to play it once so far, and got confused by the rules not too far into it. it was fun while we played though. it will be a very long game though, even once we understand the rules fully...

anyway, we'll have to play roads and boats sometime soon. its one of my faves, but i have a hard time convincing others to play it given that it will take several hours....

Both R&B and Indonesia look to be longish games. I can understand how you might have trouble getting them finished.

Roads and Boats sounds as though I might like it. Especially, if my mind defogs at some point.

Keep trying to find a copy of &etc. haven't come accross one locally yet.

I liked Roads and Boats, it's just a 4 hour+ game which causes us some grief...

Very fiddly mind you, but, then I don't mind fiddly with lots of chits everywhere. Kind of reminded me of an economic game that looked like my old Squad leader games or somesuch.

well, you know me. i enjoyed antiquity, even though it has killed me the only times we have played, and that has to be the 'fiddliest with chits' game we have (apart from squad leader-which I have never played with you. i enjoy a challenge... even if it means that I never get to finish games (unless the game itself kills me!)

Antiquity is, also, on my "interesting-but-expensive" list. If I spot a bargain on it, though, I may grab it.

I don't mind fiddly if the fiddly gives value. I don't like fiddly for fiddliness sake.

i cant think of another way that they would be able to accomplish what they would need to do otherwise.
expensive huh.... do i need to speak to t about the cost of his game purchases previously?
