El Potrero Chico means "The little corral". It is a circular ring of limestone walls -- essentially it was a dome, in which the center collapsed, then eventually breached the walls at the point we enter the park.

Every morning, when I woke up and stepped out of my room, this was my view:

And, if I turned left and looked farther into the Posada:

Looking up the rock of my first multi-pitch climb, "Evil Shenanigans".

And a couple shots at the top of the 2nd pitch of that climb, where we stopped:

The next 4 are images as I climbed one of the pitches of "Satori", a 7 pitch (700 ft) 5.10c climb that was my favourite climb of the week.

A view of the nearby town, Hidalgo, from the top of Satori:

A palm tree growing out of the cliff:

My guide, Becket:

A cactus flowering at the top of the climb:

Looking up at me, and seeing the next ridge up behind me:

Looking back up at the cliff Satori is on. The pink line isn't actually on the cliff, but tries to show about where the route for Satori goes.

A couple days later, starting up "Estrellita", an 11 pitch 1100 foot climb, though easier than Satori.

Becket belaying on Estrellita -- showing some of the gear for a belay station on the cliff.

Climbing Estrellita (2 shots):

Looking into the Potrero from the top of Estrellita:

Looking downwards out of the Potrero from the top of Estrellita:

A palm tree on the top of Estrellita. Hopefully you can see that it is windy up there.

A close up of some of the rock -- again hopefully you can see that the rock can get quite sharp. It is rain-carved limestone.

Me, holding the palm tree. The mountains in the background are, I think, from El Potrero Grande.

That's Shauna, Becket's girlfriend. She climbed Estrellita with us.

Another pretty flower at the top of a cliff.

The pics are awesome!

I don't have so much a fear of heights as a fear of losing my glasses when looking down from heights.

I had glasses-retention-straps on all the time. Yup, I can understand being scared of losing your glasses.
