And, by that I mean rock climbing. I went up to Home Cliff today with Scott, and iclysdale came along for the lift so he could do some hiking.

We headed out around 11am, getting to the cliffs around 12:30pm. It was utterly gorgeous climbing. Ok, I know the weather report says the daytime high (for here, and Luskville) didn't go above 0 degrees, but it was gorgeous. Other than being a bit chilly setting up the top ropes, I was not cold at all. The rock, too, was mostly quite warm and dry. (There was a small line of wet down the inner-corner at the cliff, but even that route was climbable.) It is amazing what warm spring sun on the rock, and on the escarpment, will do for comfort.

Oh, and not cold meant wearing a sweater most of the time, not a coat.

And, I'm really glad to have gotten an outing on real rock again, before I head to Mexico.

My ankle held up quite well. I actually noticed ankle problems (some pain and tension) on the hike out. I think, actually, hiking/scrambling over rough terrain (and scree) with a decent pack is probably one of the hardest workouts you can apply to your ankles.

My big climbing trip is in a week. I fly to Mexico in 6 days, Saturday morning at *shudder* 6am. Climbing Sunday-Wednesday, rest Thursday, climbing Fri-Sat, home Sunday.
