leather & port

I wore my new garment, that someone has described as a "leather doublet", (I'm not sure if that is the correct name for the garment, but I may stick with it) to commodorified & iclysdale's party yesterday evening. It continues to collect strongly favourable reviews, so I'm quite happy to have bought it.

The port that I brought to the party, that seemed quite appreciated, was a Rozes 1994 LBV unfiltered. (There is an accent grave on the e.) I picked it up in New Hampshire (at the state liquor store) on the way home from Arisia.

I quite liked it. I think my second glass was better than the first, so I think you were right about the initial "it could possibly breathe a little longer" assessment.

It's a dublet. It doesn't hold up to a historical authenticity perspective of course, but it doesn't need to considering your wearing it for the here and now. However, it's inspiration is clear.

And, as you say, I'm not looking to hold up to historical authenticity. Glad I now have a word for that leather thingy I've got. ;)
