Surprisingly good evening

I had a surprisingly good evening. I went to a party with my climbing buddies -- it was a climbing group & spouses party (though there were only a few spouses), with a theme of "fancy drinks" -- cocktails and such, along with easy to eat while standing around food, and a suggestion to dress up. There were some good drinks -- I made chocolate-raspberry martinis (with a raspberry for decoration), and others made good stuff, too. The food was good, and I ended up getting a couple hours of dancing in. (I'm icing my ankle as I write this.) But, actually, the ankle held up remarkably well, I think it really is healing and getting stronger.

These people are, in many ways, different from my usual crowd. But they're good people, too.

I know there are other types of geeks. I don't know what these people's geek is, though. They aren't climbing geeks -- none of them are as serious a climber as I am, most of them quite a bit less so.

I did wonder, though, how they would react if I tried to explain the state of my personal/relationship life to them.
