I went out climbing again this evening and climbed harder and better. I did 7 or 8 routes, including three 5.9s (one of which was a repeat, one of which I knew was a 5.9, and one of which I had remembered as easier, then after completing it wondered why it was so much work and checked and found it to be a 5.9).

I also strained a muscle in my back clearing/scraping my car this morning, and it has been bothering me most of the day. I hoped climbing might work it out, and it does feel a lot better now than it did before the climbing. Yay.

And my third excitement was my first shoveling of the year. I shoveled the snow plow and sidewalk plow droppings on my driveway. Often the plow droppings are fairly light -- my street section is one-way and I'm on the left, but today I got the heavy pile rather than the other side of the street.

My ankle does seem to be doing a lot better. I've got a doctor's appointment on Monday morning and I'm really hoping he'll tell me I'm at the point of starting physiotherapy to recover strength and mobility rather than keeping the cast on much longer. Even if he does, I don't expect it will mean 4-limbed climbing next week -- probably another week or two of gimpy climbing just for extra safety margin.
