I had a bunch of people over for gaming. We played a game of Bananagrams and a game of Set while waiting for people to accumulate, then I think we had enough for 5+4 in the initial split of gaming. Since it was my party, I said I wanted to play my Christmas present from my parents, Age of Empires III -- so we did. It was won by jagash. While we played this, Thurn & Taxis was won by hexspiritus and Through the Desert was won by buttongirl. We then reconvened, and decided on a quick game before dinner. At the table I was at, we played an inconcomplete game of Tichu -- though ironphoenix and green_ogre were leading over beable and I when we finished. The other group played TransEuropa (buttongirl's idea, is anyone surprised?), though I don't recall who won that game.

8 of us went for dinner at the Chu-Shing, joined by mikepictor.

After dinner, we had 7 people. buttongirl suggested Power Grid, and several were interested until I stole a few away with Imperial, ending up with 4 for Imperial (which I won), and 3 for Power Grid (which buttongirl won). Everyone but _niall left, and he and I played a game of Kingdoms (which I won).

I think buttongirl had a very successful day, today. She won 2 games (unless she also won TransEuropa) and got to play her favourite game.

But, I too was quite happy -- I got to play two serious games, both of which I quite like. And, the Imperial finish was quite close -- 165/160/156/146 (IIRC).

I can't remember if we did two or three games of TransEuropa; I won the last one, that much I know. ilanikhan might remember more the other(s).

We did two of them, I believe that ilanikhan won the other of them.

I was mostly stunned at how well Hexspiritus did at Set and Bananagrams on the first play, though she is a brilliant girl.

No, no, I was the one that caused the other game to end - I lost. I don't remember who won, likely buttongirl
