Oops - shopping time

Hm... shopping time between when I get home and my party is going to be very limited. I'm sure the LCBO will be closed on the 25th, 26th, and 28th. I might get time on the 24th, but I wouldn't bet on being in town soon enough. I really should have thought ahead.

So, is anyone planning to visit the LCBO between now and then? If so, would you mind picking up a bottle (or two) of Scotch for me?

con_girl suggested Teacher's as a good blended.
niall_ suggested GlenMorangie as a reasonable single malt.

I would, of course, pay you back.

Slightly related: Can you recommend a half-decent port for under $25, or am I just dreaming in Portocolour?

I don't know prices on the Quebec side. On the Ontario side, that is very doable. There are several quite drinkable ports in the $20 range.

Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) is decent. (But not their 6-grapes.) I think it is about $18-19 in Ottawa.
Kopka Ruby and Tawny are both 3/4-decent. They were both about $15 in Ottawa.

I think there were a couple others -- but those are the ones that come to mind as ports I would buy for around-the-house drinking.
