Gives me a happy full tummy. Yum. Cranberry sauce and everything. Though, who'd have thought that pumpkin pie went with Christmas dinner? That's a Thanksgiving thing.

We did pumpkin pie in my house at Christmas too, at least Christmas dinners at which we did turkey (which were most of them). I think pumpkin pie just goes with turkey, no matter when you serve it.

Pumpkin pie contains 100% too much pumpkin. It should be served with no meal at all. Mince-meat pie (where it is mainly a fruit-based mince-meat) is what belongs with Christmas dinner.

Ugh, mince-meat.

The only proper pie for Christmas is lemon meringue, although really, you should be having rice pudding instead. Especially if you find the almond.

I just realized how weird some of my family's traditions are.

IMO, pumpkin pie is always appropriate. :-)

We always did pumpkin pie at Christmas. And Easter. Any time we did turkey, like tammylc said.
