Gaming happened

I got in another game of Through the Ages -- ansfrid kicked ass. I think the other group played Power Grid, won by (IIRC) ilanikhan.

Gaming was good, and dinner was pleasant.

how many played "through the ages"?

Does it work better as a multi-player game, if so?

We played with 3 players this time. I think 3 might be the sweet spot. I felt with 4 that you (especially) might get frustrated by cards passing through the array too quickly -- too expensive, then gone by the time the card got back around to you. We also had a lot more events getting played this time, which changed things as well. (We played the advance game, again.) With three, there were more dynamics for events, and raids, the auctions for territories were more interesting, yet the cards (at least the way we played) didn't cycle through too quickly, either.

I still think it is fine with two players, and would like to play through a full game with two players, too.

Confirmation that we did play PowerGrid, and ilanikhan did win by subtle psychological manipulation. If it hadn't ended that turn, it was ending the next turn somehow; we were all nearly equal.

Wow, I don't think anyone has ever called me subtle before!
The worried look was not intentional manipulation, I thought raghilnar had a lot more money than me... :)

I didn't, because I saw that 50 still in your hand as you were building. She didn't see it, obviously. :)

I'm just happy I did as well as I did, despite my mistakes.
