I had a 4-hour stopover in Newark to catch my Mumbai flight, but it wasn't enough. The Continental service guy was very helpful, and found me a routing through Heathrow that would get me there -- Continental's automatic rebooking had me going out on Tueaday evening (that is a 4-day delay in Newark), which would have made the trip entirely pointless.

Then, I had to deal with the rest... cause I wasn't really flying to Mumbai, I had a seperate ticket on to Goa the next day. I had to get that rebooked, and that took a while, too.

Now, I just have to let everyone on the business side of things know.

I really didn't need this.

Am I dreaming to much to hope that my luggage gets to India with me? The Continental guy assured me it would, and he seemed quite nice.

The wonder of computer programs, hope the rest of the trip is going well.

Makes you wish that telepresence (in a useful form) wasn't still basically a pipe-dream... Then you'd just have to deal with the time change (probably much easier to handle without the rest of the jet-lag effects).

So they've been promising us that for what, 10 years now already?

Yeah, I've done telepresence teaching, actually. To India, in fact. It didn't work all that well. Not too bad, but not great.

I don't actually want telepresence, though. I want teleportation. :)

Controlled by a computer running Windows? :)

I'm discovering that's an interesting way of thinking about potential uses of technology. Compare "It'd be really cool to have a flying car!" and "It'd be really cool to have a flying car controlled by a computer running Windows."

So, magical teleportation - maybe; technological teleportation... I'm not so sure. :)

Hey, I'd be ok if it was controlled by QNX.

Well, perhaps, but that wasn't the question, was it? :) In response to all your - very good - arguments why QNX would be a much better platform, I have only one response: "Windows for Warships." :)
