But, tired now.

No intertubes since Friday morning, so I've been out of contact for a while. Got to catch up on a bunch of stuff, do a bunch of laundry, then plan for the trip to Newfoundland next week. It is going to be a busy week.

I did play 20 games since Friday: 7 serious (Reef Encounter, Imperial, In the Year of the Dragon, Brass, Kingsburg, Khronos, and Caylus), 4 moderate (Wizard, Ricochet Robots, and Citadels twice) and 9 light (Banagrams 8 times and Set).

[edit] About 275 LJ posts behind. OMFG. [/edit]

Awesome weekend - yes. Tired now - yes. Trip home went well, passing Toronto before the crowds, and going through Detroit before rush hour got crazy.

Great, glad to hear (read) that you got home safely and easily.

I had a great time...I am really very glad I was able to be a part of the experience.

Thanks again.

I had a great time.

I also had an e-mail from a non-LJ friend (the one I introduced St PEtersburg to successfully) when I got back asking if I had heard of a bunch of other games. There were only three on their list that I recognized right off the bat (Caylus, Power Grid, and Princes of Florence) but they would like to try out said games so at some point I would love to borrow Caylus or Princes if that is ok. Not something I plan to organize before you leave for Nfld.

Sure, you can borrow them.

Also, what were the other games you didn't recognise? It is possible I may have them and you just don't remember that I have them.

He asked me if I had played the following games:

>>Agricola
>>Dungeon Twister
>>Power Grid
>>Caylus
>>The Princes of Florence
>>Race for the Galaxy
>>Lost Cities

Power Grid I own. Lost Cities I don't think I have ever played but D (the person asking) bought it already.

I didn't recognize Agricola, Race for the Galaxy, or Dungeon Twister.

I consider it moderately likely that either you, Con_girl and Foms, or Ironpheonix would own these games but they don't ring any bells as I've never played them.

I own Lost Cities (not that it matters) and Race for the Galaxy. Race was actually at the cottage, but in the Ricochet Robots box. It did not get played.

I've heard of Dungeon Twister, but it didn't sound interesting. Agricola is new, it has been out in a German edition for a while, but it only just recently (last month, I think) became available in an English-language edition. It is on my "probably buy" list.

Ok, you guys win for cottage games geekery. We merely played Seafarers/Settlers, Tsuro, Munchkin, Black Death, D&D 4th ed (playtest - our normal campaign is 3.5ed), and Mafia RPG.

Those were only the games I played in. There were often two games running in parallel, and occasionally three games.

Other games that I remember noticing included some games of Banagrams (without me), Mr Jack, and Lunar Rails. I'm pretty sure there were more that I don't directly recall.

Arkham Horror
Antike
Munchkin Cthulhu (by assumption - the box was out)
Power Grid

I liked Imperial and Kingsburg. I am undecided about the Dragon game and Kronos. I would have liked to have tried Brass but will do so another time.

Munchkin Cthulhu didn't get played. I didn't notice Antike actually getting played. Cool. I remember Arkham Horror now that you mention it, as well as Power Grid.

Antike did get played -- we had a really good game of it the Saturday night.

I'll bet gabriel_le played, she likes the game a lot.

I like Imperial a lot, and Kingsburg is fun game, but fairly light & quick.

I think In the Year of the Dragon will be good, and Brass is definitely good. I'm also unsure about Khronos. The wait-time between doing things is pretty high, with lots of thinking and decisioning and stuff. It has some really neat concepts, though, with the "rippling through time" stuff. So, conceptually, a really neat idea.
