Went climbing at PrimeClimb, one of the two gyms that is within range (about 1/2 hour) of my hotel. I managed to hook up with someone, which is nice, and do a bunch of routes. Their routes are rated a lot tougher than I'm used to -- I had trouble with some of their 5.8s, whereas I normally flash 5.9s at Coyote (and most other gyms I've visited). From talking with the person running the gym, he says that seems to be a Connecticut thing -- most people seem to say the ratings are tougher in Connecticut than elsewhere, not just at the gyms but also at the crags.

I also picked up a second harness at the gym -- it is adjustable for any waist size up to 44" (so claims the packaging), and is what the gym uses as "one size fits all". This means I can take people climbing in the Gatineaus, since a harness is the minimum necessary equipment. (Well, a helmet is a good idea, too, but most people have a bicycle/rollerblade helmet, and if not, I have a bike helmet around that could be drafted into service if I can find it.) (iclysdale, this could mean you as I seem to recall you've expressed interest. con_girl, this could mean you, too, if you're interested.)

Yeah, I could probably be up for that, if we can make timing work.

Yeah, timing will be tricky. We lead busy lives.
