skiing yesterday

I went skiing yesterday with gabriel_le and M from Michigan. We went up to Mont Ste Marie for the day, and had a good day of skiing. It was my first time out in a couple years, though, and wow did I feel it. I was just bagged when I came home -- I passed out around 9pm and slept until about 8am today. I skied on my old skies, which are a pair of 200cm straight edge skies from a long time ago, and which I've been thinking about updating for a while. They were fine on the groomed, actually, and I had begun thinking I didn't need to replace them, then on the last run I got into a bit of moguls and re-discovered why I'd been thinking about replacing them. They do not handle moguls at all well -- too long and stiff. (Even when I did use them, I generally had two pairs, and these were not the pair I used for moguls, I had another pair for that.) But, I don't ski enough to justify a new pair (though I will be getting out a few more times this year), so I think I'll be looking at the 2nd hand shops.

Well, I can't recall when exactly you'll be in A2, but Sun and Snow is having their ski swap on 1/12 & 1/13 (http://sunandsnow.com/images/janswap.html). :)

Also... *envy* I've been wanting to get out skiing, but just haven't had the time lately, and given that I'm taking anatomy & physiology, chances are I won't this season... *sigh*
